Campbell Hanley named Edelman Japan CEO

Edelman has hired Campbell Hanley as chief executive and representative director for Japan. He succeeds Meghan Barstow, who has led the office since 2020.

Hanley spent nearly 12 years at Weber Shandwick in Tokyo, including more than five as managing director. Since July, he has served as head of client experience and growth for Asia-Pacific at Omnicom PR, following the consolidation of firms and restructuring at the holding group.

His arrival at Edelman comes after the world's largest PR firm stepped up its Japan ambitions by acquiring WPP's 21% shareholding in PRAP, one of the country's biggest PR agencies.
