Earned First's inaugural Africa Consultancy Performance Index has seen encouraging transparency from PR firms across the continent, giving us a useful set of metrics to benchmark the state of the industry. Topline performance statistics from 2025 point to a sector defined by robust growth and high client satisfaction despite a complex, uneven economic environment.
Overall industry fee income growth rate among reporting firms was relatively strong, despite challenging economic conditions. This is partly driven by markets like Nigeria, which are recovering from a period of intense currency volatility. Even excluding these high-growth outliers, a core group of established consultancies maintained a healthy growth average of roughly 17%.
