Why 77% of comms pros are getting AI wrong
The communications industry's obsession with AI speed is destroying the very thing that makes us valuable, writes Microsoft's Lauren Myers-Cavanagh.

The data should be encouraging: 75% of knowledge workers now use AI at work, with nearly half having adopted it in just the last six months. But here's what the surveys aren't capturing—a recent study of 2,500 professionals found that AI actually increased workload for 77% of workers, with 47% admitting they don't know how to unlock productivity benefits.
After analyzing AI adoption patterns across communications teams in Asia-Pacific, I've come to understand why this paradox exists—and why it cuts particularly deep in our industry. The answer isn't what you'd expect.
