Jim O'Leary to depart Weber Shandwick for Penta

Jim O'Leary is departing his position as Weber Shandwick global president and North America CEO to take charge of corporate advisory firm Penta, in one of the PR consultancy sector's more significant moves of recent years.

O'Leary, who joined Weber Shandwick in early 2023, joins Penta after the firm was acquired by Shamrock Capital last year. His move takes him from one of the world's top 3 PR firms, with fee income estimated in the $800m range, to a $100m player that employs approximately 400 people. But O'Leary told Earned First that his decision is down to the "massive generational shift" currently underway in the communications world.
