The mighty status quo
Asia-Pacific emerges as the strongest advocate for reinventing corporate affairs, even as the function struggles to account for the risks ahead.
It is easy to lose sight of the bigger picture when it comes to the communications sector, such are the short-term pressures afflicting the function. Across numerous conversations with Asia-Pacific in-house leaders over the past couple of weeks, via partner events with We., Zeno and APACD, the portrait remains notably constant: comms execs report consistent pressure to resize, reshape and, in many cases, reinvent their capabilities.
Belying these trends, though, are broader movements we have documented in considerable detail over the past year. As Earned First nears its first anniversary next week, we will aim to update the popular industry vibe check that launched our efforts 12 months ago. For now, however, I would like to focus your attention on new findings that demonstrate why regional comms leaders are increasingly desperate for change.
