Run towards the fire 🔥
At the inaugural PRAXIS Asia-Pacific in Singapore, more than 200 communicators examined how their industry must adapt to new pressures — from boardroom reinvention and AI disruption to the changing nature of credibility and geopolitics.

In an increasingly atomised world, there is immense value in community. That might have been my overriding takeaway from the inaugural Asia-Pacific edition of PRAXIS, held successfully at Singapore’s stunning National Gallery last week. In truth, though, there were many lessons, ideas and provocations, as you might expect from an event that brought together 200+ communicators and PR pros for a day of discussion, debate and recognition.
If there was one more notion that helped me understand the direction of PRAXIS conversations, it involved ‘running towards the fire’, an idea that will not be unfamiliar to issues management veterans. A refreshing level of honesty meant that neither speakers nor delegates shied away from the inexorable challenges that confront the communications sector, even as public relations becomes increasingly indispensable.
In a bid to bring that notion to life, I’ve summarised what the event tells us about four themes that are reshaping the communications sector. Those of you that attended may well feel that I missed something. You are more than welcome to let me know, while I’ve also rounded up all of the PRAXIS session coverage and photos here and within this newsletter too.
